Transferring relief layers between stacks
Transferring relief layers between stacks
The composite relief can be built from either one of the two
layer stacks in the model; one representing the front surface of your piece, the
other its back. Use the Transfer Relief Layer
button to transfer a relief layer from one
stack to the other.
- You can only work with one relief stack at a time, but you can
use the Toggle Front Relief and Toggle Back
Relief
buttons on the 3D View toolbar to
concurrently view the composite relief resulting from both stacks.
When you transfer a relief layer from one stack to the other,
the composite relief resulting from both layer stacks is affected. It is prudent
to check the composite relief shown in the 3D view whenever you transfer a
relief layer.
In every new model, each stack includes an empty relief layer.
There must always be at least one layer in each stack.
To transfer a relief layer to the opposite layer stack:
- In the Project Tree, click beside the
Front Relief
or Back Relief
item to display either the front or back relief-layer stack.
- Select the layer that you want to transfer. The name is
bold and highlighted, and its panel is displayed below the splitter bar.
- Instead of transferring the active relief layer to the
opposite stack, you can duplicate the layer and transfer this instead.
Where there is only one layer in the current stack, you
cannot transfer this to the opposite stack. - Click
to transfer the currently active layer to the opposite layer stack.
