Use this menu option to toggle the display of the root Assembly  in the 3D view, including all of its associated visible items.

The Toggle Assembly Visibility   button on the 3D View toolbar is a shortcut for this menu option. This button is available on the 3D View toolbar only if you are working on a model as part of a project; the availability of this button is license dependent..
