Using the 3D Model Unwrapping panel
Using the 3D Model Unwrapping panel
Use the 3D Model Unwrapping
panel to unwrap an imported triangle model along a cylindrical axis into a flat
relief layer within a Carveco model. This panel is displayed when you import a
model containing normals using the Relief > Import
3D Model For Unwrapping option.
To unwrap a triangle model along a cylindrical axis:
- Using the X, Y and Z boxes in
the 3D Model Origin area, specify the
position of the triangle model's origin within the Carveco model.
- In the Rotate Model
area, click the
and
buttons to rotate
the triangle model on an axis in the Carveco model in 90
increments.
- In the Unwrapping
Cylinder area:
- In the Diameter box,
enter the diameter of the cylindrical axis along which the triangle model is
unwrapped.
- Click any of the Axes
options to select the axis along which the centreline in the triangle model is
aligned.
- In the Border Width
box, specify the width of the border which is added above and below the triangle
model. If you want to add a border later or using another method, see
Model > Add Border.
- If you do not want Carveco to process large triangles found
in planar sections within JewelCAD triangle models, ensure the Unwrap JewelCAD Triangulation option is selected.
- Click Create New
Model.
